Calculate the Total Frontage for Your Shelves and Drawers

Luckily, the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), a not-for-profit trade association representing the kitchen and bath industry, has calculated the ideal shelf and drawer frontage for kitchens of varying sizes.

• A frontage of 1,400 inches is recommended for small kitchens or kitchen spaces that are less than 150 square feet.

• A frontage of 1,700 inches is recommended for a medium kitchen or kitchen spaces with a square footage of 151 to 350 square feet.

• A frontage of 2,000 inches is recommended for a large kitchen or kitchen spaces that are greater than 350 square feet.
