The Various Ways You Can Make a Messy Kitchen Tidier

The kitchen is a vital room of any home. After all, not only is it the place where you can prepare your meals every day, but it’s also the place where you and your family can reconnect after a long day of being apart from one another. You can also store a lot of things in the kitchen. Unfortunately, you may soon find that it’s also a room that can quickly become cluttered. But there are ways to combat this problem.

Install Cube Shelving

If you find your kitchen cluttered, consider incorporating cube shelving into one of the main tall shelves of the kitchen. You can use the compartments to store your dinnerware, letters, reminders and other items you need to keep close.

Store Dried Foods in Jars

If you have dried foods like pasta or cereals, free up some cupboard space by relocating them into glass jars. Arrange them in height and size, and you’ll have an orderly arrangement in your cabinets or countertops.

Use Hanging Racks

On the other hand, if you’re running out of space in your built-in kitchen storage, utilize the walls of your kitchen by hanging a rack where you can place your pots, pans, ladles and even mugs without creating too much clutter around the room.

Consider Shallow Cabinets

If your dinnerware is a collection of hand-me-downs and new finds, they might look a little messy if you leave them out on display or store them in a clear case. Instead, consider storing them in a tall cupboard with solid doors, and make sure to dedicate a shelf to each item to ensure order.

Opt for Open Shelving

If your kitchen has open shelving, consider putting it to good use by placing the mix-and-match china and storage jars there to add a little character to the room. Below the sink, on the other hand, store the bulkier kitchen items in the cabinets so the space continues to feel as tidy as possible.

Choose a Multi-Functional Freestanding Unit

Do you have a kitchen trolley? If so, you can declutter your kitchen by turning it into a moveable workbench or cooking aid. By doing so, you can place a variety of kitchen equipment there, such as a mortar and pestle, glasses, bottles or spices. This allows you to make your kitchen a lot tidier than it used to be.
